I have noticed this when I use a DVI to VGA adapter on my MKIIcr.  But if I use straight DVI everything shows just fine.  Don't think the MKI you have does DVI.  Couldnt really suggest much on what to do so it improves the picture quality.

Believe he means the actual video cable going from the vga port of the indivision cable to the monitor. Mine wasnt the best of quality so that explains the shadow/ghosting problem.  Man up the vga cable and see what happens. :)

After seeing some pictures of the MKI, I didn't see a ground point like they have on the MKII cards.  Not sure if its even possible adding one. I wouldn't risk it since I would probably ruin it. :)
