Good sequencing prog for Amiga?
« on: November 13, 2007, 11:42:31 PM »
Hey everybody.

I'm looking for a good program to use with the Amiga. I'm interested in something that has a FruityLoops feel to it. Not so much recording as just playing and sequencing. Any suggestions?
Got any useful PD Amiga programs I should know about? Don\\\'t hesitate to tell me!

Hi

When you say FruityLoops, do you mean the current FLStudio series, or the older step sequencer style? If you want a step style sequencer, you may like Octamed.

I think for more modern style sequencers, BarsNPipes is probably the most popular, and still has a reasonable user base. I think there is a Yahoo Groups community for it, and there is a handy 3 bank x 16 channel midi interface available for it. I believe Bars N Pipes is also free software now.

I always prefered Music-X 2, as I found it more intuitive. It's not so easy to get more than 16 midi channels with it, though.

I use FL Studio 6. I'm not going to use the Amiga for more synth-y stuff (I bought Arturia Moog and Minimoog, as well as some other hard core things, including QuadraSID, not as good as my 128 but still fun.)

That's a good example of what I am trying to do.

But thanks for the help!

I'll be purchasing an Amiga1200 soon, so I don't think processing power will be an issue.

I have heard of OctaMED, but is it now freeware or public domain or what?
