The low end Mac is no longer dual processor.

It is a single processor 1ghz, the rest are still dual processor.

And Apple has dropped the price up to 40% on some models...

its not just a speed bump but a huge price drop.  Is it still a bit pricey?  You bet it is......but compared to Amiga, its downright cheap.

You can build your own G4 Mac, with the 2xAGP gigabit ethernet logic board ($150)...see www.macopz.com for instructions... and a $299 800mhz G4 from gigadesigns (www.macsales.com) for far less than an AmigaONE can be built.

If you want 4xAGP 166mhz FSP and 333mhzDDR Ram, you can't build that at any price in the Amiga market.

So...don't ding them on prices...only the pc crowd can do that....there is nothing cheap in the PPC market, but Apple is the cheapest.
