Yes, a bit overpriced.
But nice condition :-)

Surely a CD-ROM drive/burner, cheap, would be the first upgrade for this Amiga :-)

What for?

Surely the first upgrade would be a back panel IDE->CF adapter and a CF card?

Much easier to fit and use than an optical drive and facilitates fast transfer of files from a PC.

Sorry, that's just what I would do, maybe it's because I have a pile of used IDE CD-rom drives

I think your suggestion about a back panel IDE->CF adapter are more usefull, IF you have a card reader for your PC and a CF card.

But considering the an upgrade to OS3.9 are what most people with big-box Amiga's want, I think a CD-rom drive will be necessary. I use cd's for my A4000 and CF for my A1200, I get the best of both things :-)

That's just what I would do, we all have different oppinions, luckily :-)

I just compared the price whit what I gave for my A4000/040 in 2006. But I have to agree that auktion prices mostly are higher. Amiga can very well be an expensive hobby

Why? You can install OS3.9 on your CF card using WinUAE before hand. Much easier than on a real Amiga.

That is a matter of taste ;-)
I always do it "on the real thing" if I can.
The only time I have used UAE for anything usefull, was a few days ago when I needed to transfer ClassicWB to my A1200 :-)

I have to agree with dannyp1, but if you think it's to expencive, don't but it. But I would buy this A4000 at the auction price, if I needed it.

Once the system is installed, it works. Luckily I don't need to re-install my Amiga's :-)
(At least not very often, mostly when I mess around with an Amiga I want to re-install and sell  )

My A4000 has the same install of OS3.9 since I bought it in 2006, just a few added a few programs and games :-)

Really is just a matter of taste I guess.

None of my Amiga's has a HD diskdrive :-?
I have 2 A4000's, both of them has a normal DD 880kb drive.
1.76MB would maybe be nice in some cases, but it's okay with me with 880kb, then all of my miggy's can read the same disks :-)

There are no goodies on at the moment but you'd be amazed how many "Amga accellerator" and "cybertsorm turboakrte" cards go cheap.

I trust you in that :-)

But it's amazing how much JUNK I found in one "Amiga" search
