I can't comment on the X5000 but I would assume the latest AmigaOS4.1 on it will run as good as on my X1000 so I can attest that it's been running quite nice since installing 4.1FE, hopefully we get the much awaited small update to fix a few bug fixes when the X5K is released?

As for software to run, well you can check out amigaos.net, os4depot.net as well as tons of stuff on aminet.net. amistore.net is our online shop for OS4.1 specific programs.  If you're into programming there's quite a bit of help over at amigaos.net and hyperions forum.  Hollywood is getting better and better for the average Joe non programmer to get involved in making new stuff for NG and classics.
You can use alot of classic 68k apps/games using the great RunInUAE as well. Drawing/sketching and 3D with SketchBlock and Blender.

Well, I did it... I ordered my X5000.  Now I wait!

Well after Christmas.  AOTL is east coast and I am west coast.  My guess is it will arrive Friday 30th....  ;-)

I can drink and me merry for New Years and setup my X5K.

Did you do a clean install of AmigaOS, or leave it the way it was from AOTL?  Also, is there any reason to install the official Update 1?  It obviously just came out.... but it sounds like there is nothing new in it for X5000 users.... but I know our OS is considered a Pre-Release.....

Now I need to figure out what browser to use.... The two default ones are fairly old.... I know new ones exist..... now I need to find them.....

X5000's already have Update 1 installed.

download latest Odyssey for OS4.1 as that's the best we got right now.
