Network/Video conflicts
« on: July 22, 2013, 10:38:00 PM »
SO!  I'm plugging away at getting my Setup in prime condition and have hit a wall.  Here are the symptoms...

If I have my Video Card enabled (Mediator) and try to access the innerwebz (network card also Mediator), the whole system locks up in 1-2 minutes.

I'm using Genesis for stack and that seems to be fine.  It is only when I actually get onto the internet that the system locks up.  Acts the same no matter what browser I use.

If I switch over to my Indivision output, I can surf!  But if I try to got to the website that hosts the latest config tool for the Indivision, my screen flips out and the system locks up!  Again, it does the same thing with any browser.

I'm running a relatively clean install up to 3.9-BB2 on my A4000T.  I have the Mediator with *Radeon*, Spyder 2, and NIC on it with the Indivision on the main board.

I know the internet worked before and the only thing I can think of that I changed was the use of the video card memory as "fast" RAM.  I say "fast" because, well, it ain't all that fast.

Unfortunately I started working on this so long ago that I can't remember HOW to disable it...  Yes, I am very embarrassed...  :anger:

PS- The Spyder isn't recognized if I start up in native.  Is that even normal?

Ug, yes I feel even more stupid now since I apparently can't tell between an Nvidia and a radeon...

I have the same thoughts but I can't find where to limit how much of the video card's memory is used for fastmem.  I thought I found it under env-arc but that file either crashes my system (removed) or changes nothing (edit the number variable).

If you know where the documentation can be found for this specific thing I think it would have the answers I'm looking for.

Thanks!
