yes and no.  Out of the box an Amiga could not use a LS-120 but there were special drivers made and sold to use the LS-120.  I think they are PD now or someonr made a PD version.  Have you tried Aminet?

What they are talking about is how many streams of data it can work with uninterupted.  Most IDE controllers have atleast two (one for each master/slave setup).  For the X-Surf, it is one for all of them to share.  

Therefore you can't use a burner as it requiers uninterupted data feed unlike a HD or other device that can hope around while reading and copying.

This problem or the one reguarding power cunsuption of 2.5" HDs have no direct appliction to your problem.  This rules out one area to worry about eh? :lol:
