HD Start up delays.
« on: October 11, 2005, 10:02:26 PM »
Is it not using the SCSI or the IDE on MY A4000T that slows down my booting up?

I am using the SCSI III connection on my Accel. leaving the other two unused.

If SCSI, can I terminate it to speed up booting/searching?

Hmmmm, this brings me back to another project I was looking at.  A user put this http://www.amiga.org/gallery/index.php?n=1108 on his IDE port in his A1200.  I know where to get 40-pin vers. up to 2 gig.  I was planing on getting one so I can:

1) Remove my two intenal SCSI Drives and have all progs
   and data external.

Whick will bring me closer to my goal of...

2) Have a Quiet system

and...

3) Cleaning out cables for better air flow

1 & 3 making it more possible to...

4) have a cooler running system.

and now this will also...

5) speed up startup time...

Wow!  I really need to get on this huh?

Thanks for all the guidence patrik!
