I remember seeing BeOS running during an Amiga user group meeting. It was using a TV card, playing back mpeg video, and multi-tasked superbly. It even had multiple work spaces ala Amiga screens. I loved the look and feel. It was an Amiga in everything but name, and better. Shame that the Open Source folks chose Linux and didn't choose to support this. Was so much nicer to use than Windows, Mac and the KDE or Gnome of the day. Maybe even today.
