Lots of cpu-intensive software eg 3d rendering, image processing, even ppaint works faster with fpu

MMU= memory management unit, used for eg screen mapping in C2P conversions, also virtual memory
FPU=floating point unit, speeds up maths calculations eg 3d rendering, image processing, mp3 encoding
