Huh, used to? My A1000 box says "Personal Computer", so it's a PC, as is my Macintosh. I refer to Dell, etc, machines as IBM clones, which is the proper term.
I'm afriad that no one calls x86 PC's "IBM Clones" anymore.
Thats a term from the 80's when IBM built alot of the x86 hardware.
Everyone just calls them PC's these days. I think the funny part is that most unsavvy computer people call the main box that houses their computer the "CPU"
Thats what everyone calls them where I do IT work. They always say "Do you want me to bring in my CPU so you can take a look at it.
Thats to differentiate the "box" from the monitor. I know many people who think when you say the "computer", you mean the monitor. Tell em to turn the computer on and they hit the monitor power button and tell you the computer is "black". you then have to tell them to push the cpu power button as well...
