try and keep away from FFS filesystems to avoid validation issues..  best to stick with PFS or SFS.

note - takes forever to run validation scan with disksalv on a 4GB cf with heaps of directories.

Isn't FFS pretty stable with the latest patches?

Wouldnt you have to be on OS 3.5 or 3.9 with latest Boing Bags ?
