Best TV/Monitor setup for A1200
« on: March 04, 2012, 11:46:14 PM »
Whats the best quality good display setup for a A1200 ?

I've got a 1084S which I cant really use hi-res modes without annonying flickering.. I've tried software FF but still flickers a bit..

I think these are my options -

1/ RGB to Svideo converter (like at amigamaniac.com)
2/ RGB to SCART (buy LCD monitor that supports it)
3/  Indivision AGA (always waiting probably a bit expensive)
4/ RGB to VGA cable (randomly test different monitors seeing if they support 15Khz)

I think I might give the RGB -> VGA cable a go I have a few old school LCD monitors that I picked up from the road side for free that I've repaired)

Failing that which option is better out of 1/ & 2/ unless it doesn't matter same quality ?

If you are in Europe, SCART seems the best option.

For option 4, the Dell ST2320 monitor works fine in 15 khz. You can try existing monitors too. Some may randomly work.

There's various external scan doublers out there too, but of varying quality.

Im located in Australia... SCART is a bit hard to find, but theres a well known Sanyo LCD in one particular shop that carries a SCART connector..

Yeah I'll give the straight on VGA a go with a few monitors, since I have quite a few..

hmm theres a 2nd hand ST2320 for sale here but at $140  AUD... hmmm

EDIT - Cool still on Dell site for $189AUD http://accessories.ap.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=au&cs=audhs1&l=en&s=dhs&sku=230-12013&redirect=1
