CYBPPC SCSI - Need help with termination
« on: January 12, 2009, 09:40:05 AM »
Okay, this is gonna be a long post :)

PS: Read important note on the end of post!

My setup:
HD (id:0): 18GB SCSI HD Seagate ST318437LW U160 LVD/SE 68pin, Install guide and Manual
CDROM (id:5): 50 pin Plextor 40x of some sort

My problem now is that when I access the cybscsi.device from HDToolBox I get a recoverable alert from which I can either suspend or reboot. I cannot set up my devices. It crashes on the CD ROM which is set up in CybPPC firmware to be mounted as CD0:

My assumption is that it's either poor termination or the fact that the CD ROM is mounted in cybppc firmware which crashes HDToolBox (os 3.9 version, bb2)

Now, reading my HDs manuals I think I've found that it doesn't terminate the chain? Can this be correct?

Here are the excerpts from the manual:

And these are from the installation instructions:

note:I have four of these disks, and I only need one or two. I'll send a disk to the first one who can state the correct config of such a device as this with a Cyberstorm PPC and 50 pin CD ROM, and I will send another disk to the first one who wants to trade one for an active scsi terminator which I can use inside the amiga on the cybppc.

I'll try that when I come home.

ATM it's like this:

Int Wide Terminator - HD - CYBPPC - CDROM w/adapter - Int to ext adapter - Ext Wide Terminator
