Compared to my PC. I use Ie7 (sigh). Though most pages doesn't look right with Ibrowse, they are accessible earlier than in IE7. I'm using 060 with warpup datatypes.

Congrats, Arnljot!
Kindly share what's required to get an A4000 online surfing please. (or the link to the previous tread where da9000 offered his advice - sorry i missed that)

I sure want to try my miggy to surf the net.

cheers!

1) A network card
-> da9000 fixed me up with a AUI transiver for my Commodore A2065 network card.

2) A SANA-II device for your card
-> I use a2065.device which is available on aminet. Piru has written CNet SANA-II device for PCMCIA cards for the A1200/600 (NE2000 compatible). Play around!

3) A TCP IP Stack
There are many available (Genesis, Miami, etc). I use Miami. Having problems "upgrading" to MiamiDX atm. But I'm "snoopdosing" the issue atm.

4) Network applications!
Mail, Browser, FTP, Samba, IRC... You name it. My favourites were AmIRC, YAM, IBrowse and Samba. Samba allows you to share files with your PC or Mac.

What speed computer? My Amiga is no where near as fast as IE7 on my PC (2.4GHz P4, XP32)

It's a Core2Duo@ 2ghz. But it feels like 2mhz 68000.

I think the reason is all the security software our it department has installed it. I'm in banking and finance. And the IT department hates laptops. So they install loads of crappy software, and encrypts the disk.

After I've entered my credentials, it takes 5++ minutes to log in, and even more if I'm on the office lan as it then wants to synchronize the drives THREE TIMES!!! before it leaves operation to me, the user.

Things are a bit more snappy on my own private laptop, but I rarely use that one. Since I'm really just one person, and thus only really need one computer.... (silently counting 4 amigas, 4 laptops and a htpc...)
