Dual CF adapter in A1200?

Can a dual CF adapter work in an A1200 or is it only the singel adapter that will work. In other words, does the idefix contain any specially clever amiga spesific hardware?

Also, if I use a CF card, I guess that I won't be able to read it on a PC CF card reader since it will contain a RDB and an Amiga file system?

I was thinking that since I don't have network on my a1220 that I could put files on the cf using my pc, and then plug it in the adapter?

But thinking harder about it made me worried that it might not work like I'd planned/hoped...
