Many Amigas need new or refurbished power supplies.
Very few amigians (I'm one) can rebuild these items or find new old stock.

I'm not aware of anyone who advertises refurbished Amiga power supplies. It's not rocket science and I expect Amiga repair shops could fix power supplies also. I agree that the original type power supply has advantages.

In my case, I will need an AT type power supply. Getting very hard to find!

NewEgg has an AT power supply at a reasonable price.

@matty
Thx for the info...it was very cheap but,

mechy says athena is iffy.

I don't want to risk my amiga!

Read the reviews at newegg. Yea, Athena quality is not great but most people who bought their PSU were satisfied in the end (4/5 eggs). I bought one for a 4000T with burnt AT plug and haven't had any problems. It's probably better than salvaging an old PC supply with 20+ year old caps but probably not as good as a refurbished power supply with all new quality caps and professional workmanship and testing which would cost several times more.
