IRC feels pretty much dead these days. Some people keep staying logged in but are never or rarely active, for whatever reason, so newcomers get tired and leaves.
Peoples attentionspan is so low these days and since there is no backlog when you login you can't ever see when someone last wrote something. I guess that's the main reason why everyone's on discord now, because there is a backlog.

. Just not a great platform, its trying to be 10 things its not. Its a voice chat client, nothing more. Yet they try to make it to everything that ruins the experience.
