You need to install a CD filesystem or you won't be able to use CDs. I recommend AmiCDFS, which I use with a Subway and a USB DVD writer.

I also recommend a USB rocket launcher, which you can control with any joystick or controller plugged in.

I can't help with IDEFix, sorry, I've had nothing but problems with it.
