There was a thread where the DiskImage.device and GUI was discussed, and Xanxi gave some good replies to help get that installed. I haven't tried it myself yet, but it's on my to-do list. The thread about it is here - http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=62021

Personally I use FMS, which mounts a virtual disk that uses a directory on your hard drive, you can write ADF and DMS images to it or just use it to work on your own floppy-based projects without using a real disk. You can download FMS from Aminet.
