Ultimate (Stock) Amiga 1200 Configuration?
« on: August 01, 2007, 03:08:18 AM »
I would like to solicit everyone and anyone's opinion regarding how best to configure a stock Amiga 1200 (in its original case) if one had unlimited funds.  Baring the creation of any new hardware that doesn't yet exist, how would you configure such a stock Amiga 1200 in its original shell?

I ask this question because this is a project that I have intended to undertake for more than five years now.  After I reach a definitive configuration, I plan to start purchasing the gear...   Here's my take:

A1200 (Stock)
120GB 2.5" HD
Blizzard PPC603e+@240Mhz/060@50Mhz (128MB RAM)
BVision Video Adaptor (8MB RAM)
PCMCIA Wireless Network Card
Internal Scan Doubler/Flicker Fixer

Best USB add-on?
Best OS?
Best Sound adaptor?

** I am thinking that a internal CD/DVD-ROM is overkill in that I can network (ftp) to whatever media I would like to access and/or use an external when needed.  What's more, the case mod is always too messy for my taste.

** I am willing to mod the bottom of the case to effectively cool the Blizzard PPC.
