Luckily, I didn't have the money to go with the i5 or i7 quad machines.
As it turns out, Best Buy wasn't supposed to give me that price. The $1499 that I got it for was either the normal price for the 21.5" 3.06 machine, OR it may have been a black friday special (which I suspect since none were on display).
Still a stupid thing to have done, but I still can't complain about it.

Great nab Wayne! As for compulsive buying (I'm guilty!), I have found that when an opportunity presents its self that logic does not play a part in the equation, just the money to buy it. Have fun!
