So now just wait for Hypes explanation that Amiga OS4 is not late it was actually completed in 2003 but some evil force in outer space held Hermans hostage and treathened to kill him if they released it. Eventually Hermans escaped and killed the aliens and that's why they could release it FINALLY.

Does anyone here have an awful fear that this is gonna be pirated on day 1, accrue no sales and see Hyperion wash its hands of the Amiga scene forever?

its one thing you must understand when it comes to pirates, they want mainstream things and access to cheap hw.... aos4.0 and the amiga hw is none of that. if you want aos4.0 that bad, so you throw your months salary on a rare ppc card. your a fanboi and dont pirate...

Of course it will be pirated like everything else, just look around... But I am quite confident most people will still buy the original nevertheless. The Amigans know pretty well that development will only continue when they support it financially.

why in your wildes fantasy do you think this will happen, there is nearly no hw to run it on and the ones that have a ppc card are amiga fanbois, and these fanbois are buying it, period!...

pirates like windows and pirate that.... there is nothing to gain in pirating aos4.0, period!

when we get this new aos4.0 going, new ppc cards for the classic will come, dont worry about that

I still find it annoying that you have to buy this old expensive very specific type of card to run it, but at least the classic users now finally have something they can get their teeth in to!

dont worry when aos4.0 is out the door, i am 100% sure there also will come a new ppc card for the a4000/a1200, it will takes some time to make but i am sure it will come... so just get your hands on a copy

Not for us, the users.
We will have to wait for the likes of Amigakit etc to send them on. Released on a Friday, so can't see them being sent out until Monday. Another couple of days after that, before we get our hands on it.

by 1 day to go i mean it will be available to order/buy and not how long amigakit or the postman will take to send it to you... you get it?

I know I am going to get flamed for this, but for other than those that have friends who suffered long and hard to create OS4, or those that are lovers of Hyperion (no matter what information has come out in the litigation), why would anyone want to buy OS4 when a very similar product has been available for many months for free?

Does Hyperion deserve my support after all this time and after all the lies (my perception) on both sides of the Amiga Inc. fight?

I just don't understand the fanatic purchases by some that can't even run OS4?

you have your morphos good for you. we other want aos4.0 good for us, end of story, peroid!

People collect all sorts of things that they can't or don't use.

i cant use it right now but if i get my hands on a bppc card or newer ppc cards, that will be made later on. it will be usefull...

but for now i buy it for the cool factor, the collection, the support and i can throw it in the face of the disbelievers and tell them "i told you so".. hahaha...  :-D

it maybe similar and free but people dont want it, aos4.0 is the successor and that is the whole big thing. aos4.0 cost money but it dont cost an arm or an leg either, its cheap i would say. i hope you get your curiosity satisfied by reading this threat, it have the answers to your question after all...

now back to dreaming of my bought copy of aos4.0 for the classic!  :-D
