I've been using an Epson Stylus 640 for many, many years. Excellent results when coupled with TurboPrint 7. The ink cartridges are mega-cheap too. You can also get a utility that lets you check the print nozzles for quality and alignment and also clean the heads - all from the Workbench.
I suppose it can be a bit on the noisey side though, as a down side.
