A3000, replacing power supply?
« on: January 12, 2008, 12:40:01 AM »
Hi,

It seems my A3000 PSU is starting to rot as I have problems with powering up the hard disks. It might be that the cabling has gone bad (the previous owner has clearly mistreated the whole chassis), but to be on the safe side, I'd like to replace the whole PSU. Has anyone any experience in replacing the PSU with some MicroATX one? Is it possible to simply replace the internals of the original PSU or do you need some custom job done to fit a new PSU? I know I'll need to implement the TICK using a simple PCB (or use the jumper) in any case as ATX PSUs don't provide the needed signal.

Regards,
Mikko.
