@mike-

Playing devils advocate here:

On the one hand, I can understand Platon doing what he did. It's not very mature, but he wouldn't be the first to do it.

On the other hand, his actions don't just affect this one piece of software. Unless he changes his mind this could prevent the Deneb USB card from being sold. What effect will that have on E3B? What about the Poseiden users who paid to register but no longer have access to a copy of the software?

PAB was the one who started this, but Platon lost any moral high ground when he took down his site. When Bernd Meyer shelved Amithlon, at least he had the threat of legal action hanging over him. I don't have all the facts, but this seems like the petulant kid who storms off with the ball when no-one passes to him.

As a matter of fact, Platon is allowed to close down old sites and/or open new ones at will.  He does not lose any moral high ground by closing his site.  Platon owes Andrew Bell nothing.

I don't use any of his software, never have. When OS4 is released I will get a USB card that is supported by Sirius.

Maybe you should try reading instead of just reacting. I said that his actions will affect registered Poseidon users, they may affect one of the few hardware producers left on this platform.

Reading ability is good, comprehension is better.

Speaking of doing nothing, why is it that when my PC is just sitting there - doing nothing.. no apps running, not touching the thing at all -- I can observe the HD light flashing AND the network LEDs flashing?  What is it doing?  This happens on my Linux box, but mostly I see this on Windows installs.  This doesn't happen on my Amiga.

Depends which windows you're running, but there's more to Windows than the desktop. XP has loads of services which run in the background. Also, memory might be paged. What seems like nothing running to you may actually be a couple of dozen processes.
