Is anyone planning to demo attend with a system equipped with OS4 running on WinUAE?

This is a really important development and I think a presentation and panel discussion is a must.

why is this so important?

OS4.x can be run on mobile hardware for the first time.  It can now be run on cheaper hardware, hardware that people already have.  Don't you think that's an important development.

if it was, then there would be some reaction towards it, wouldnt it?

A number of threads on most Amiga sites, 800 respondants (not many polls get such a response here these days) to a poll on Amiga New de.

instead there are just few people on their own trying to hack os4 into runing under uae. so far it looks like this doesnt offer much, except a satisfaction to squeeze something into where it wasnt intended for. it appears much more efficient to run plain 68k emulation. most likely the outcome of the whole affair will be that everybody who wants will take a peek at it and quickly returns where they came from.

The emulation is not mature at this point but there are already various videos on youtube showing that it works and there is a lot of interest.

It's much more efficient to run software directly through Windows too but people still run web browsers and various ports under UAE.

i wasn't planning on doing a formal demo of AOS4 running under UAE, but on sunday the intuitionbase.com table will have my thinkpad setup with AOS4+UAE available for folks to play with if interested.

That will be nice that people can see it in action and use it.

while there are always more classic guys at amiwest than NG users, there are a lot of NG users all the same, including some of the AOS4 devs. maybe we can rope a couple of them into talking about it? dunno -- but i'll try. thx for the suggestion! :)

Would be nice to have a full discussion with all interest parties, attendees and those on IRC.

I think this is something that Hyperion should support but so far there has been no official word.
