Does the video card need  to be a voodoo in order for the network card to work ?

No but you may need to configure the Radeonmem file so that there's memory available for PCI-PCI DMA.

Also use the pciinfo comand in C: to check that the card is showing up.

The Error I get is "OpenDevice: Unknown error" .

The only card that shows up in pciinfo is the Radeon ?

Pciinfo reads the PCI device IDs from the cards installed and checks it against the vendors list and reports to you what cards are installed.  If it's not reporting back the card details then it suggests the card may be defective.  Try the card in another system to see if it works or is recognised.
