The RAM for A3000 CHIP ram can often be found on old graphics card for PC's (from the early 90's) - these can generally be found on the street. But also lots of other Amiga machines use the same type of memory, also most FAST RAM expansion cards for Amiga 500 which can be a cheap way of getting hold of these chips...
Most A3000 came with 1mb CHIP RAM and 1mb FAST RAM, which could be turned into CHIP RAM by moving the chips.
I don't think you'll have much problem finding more RAM chips to fill the remaining 1mb, but I wish you good luck anyway
