I have never been burned buying amiga gear from an ebay seller with 100% feedback. I have been had a few times by "amigans" however, selling items through the forums that were either partially, or (most recently), fully defective. One thing to consider, sometimes folks who have lost their ebay account look for alternative venues for sales.
My big mistake: buying things for computers that weren't currently running (future projects, etc) and not taking time to adequately test them immediately after arrival - not always easy to find time when life is busy. I still use AmiBay and have had some excellent experiences there. These days I've also restricted purchasing to items I can immediately test after arrival, and before leaving feedback.
