Hmmm....I dunno, from what I've seen there 'ARE"
actually chips with purplish bodies and gold
pins, so what's the difference then?!? Maybe
DoomMaster is on to something here guys...I for
one would like an explanation. And DoomMaster
is right - gold 'does conduct better..

Yes but gold conducts HEAT better...which would
make sense for military grade chips :P
