Actually, not necessarily. It's a possibility that the data could be corrupted slightly, and a re-flash may be something to consider anyway. I've experienced a small number of strange and annoying HW issues that turned out to be a corrupted BIOS, cured by a re-flash. In my particular cases, all I could attribute the corruption to was (perhaps) an unnoticed amount of static discharge while working inside the case.
It's a long-shot, but worth a go IMO.
