Any input on the pros and cons of using a Pegasos as a Classic Amiga replacement would be appreciated!

Depends what you want to use it for.
I have a Pegasos1, which I have to admit, I hardly use at all these days, although I did switch it on last night. I used it mainly for ProStationAudio (and the occassional game of Feeble Files). It's Amiga enough for me to consider it an Amiga.
My A1200 still gets fired up for OctaMED and, well that's it but it sees more use than my Peg.
I also have an A1, which I still use every other day. It's even more Amiga than the Peg and is a still being used for HD-Rec.
I have a 4 month old WinXP box which I used last night to buld a drum track with Reason but I can honestly say that's the most use I've had out of it since I bought it.
Most of my home computing is now carried out on this here iBook.

All things considered, I'd say go for it; buy the Pegasos.
They're nice little machines and incredibly responsive.

And, to echo everyopne else, keep your A1200 too. :pint:

You can always trade it in for an OS4 mobo later on

Although how *much* later on is anyone's guess. ;-)

Waiting on the new OS4 boards is getting a bit like waiting for the "last throes" of the Iraqi resistance to throw the towel in.
Diznae look like it's gonnae happen anytime soon...

Nice to see a fellow Reason lover on a.org :-) It runs great on my MacBook.

Last night is the first time I've really used it. It's fun though so I'll be back at again soon, perhaps later tonight.

Most of my computing (music making, graphics and surfing) on my MacBook.

Likewise, apart from the music but I recently bought Logic Express which I'm just trying to get my head around.

I use my Amiga for light surfing and classic games. I would like to use it for more, which is why I'm looking at the Peg.

I'm not looking to get rid of my A1200, though if I did get the Peg I would probably turn the A1200 back in to a desktop machine and use it as a portable WHDLoad box, and then use the Peg for surfing, email and classic games with UAE.

I say go for it - Pegasos is a very nice computer.
