Overall the standard is quite good but personally I always found Sanam and Al Bilal the best places to eat in. The former does not serve alcohol (or allow it on the premesis) however.

Strangely enough, given that I'm a complete bevvy-monster who rarely goes a night without a beer, neither of my two favourite Glasgow curry houses sell alcohol.

My favourite is The Anarkali, (tandoori sizzler - heaven) which does allow you to bring your own alcohol. To be fair, I usually do take a couple of beers with me when I go there.

The other one, The Village Curry House, (barbecued lamb chops - mmmmmm..) doesn't allow it on the premises.

One of the reasons (as far as I know) they don't sell or allow alcohol is that they cater for the local asian population (which is majority muslim) rather than drunken students which frequent many of the other places along the mile.

The Village is exactly the same.
It was a Muslim mate who first took me there. In fact I still usually go there when I'm with him.
He does occassionaly drink too. :pint:

They do a chick pea salad that is one of the most interesting sundries ever. Refreshing, sweet, sour and hot in equal quantities

That sounds delicious.

Nice one. My girlfriend loves just about anything with chillies in it. :-)

nursing a severe hangover at the moment .

Ouch!

I'm in the incredibly rare position of having DJ-ed last night and then actually come home after only a few beers.
I was tucked up in my bed for 5 a.m - most unusual. My normal behaviour is to go to a party and stay there until at least the next afternoon which, while fun, does leave one feeling rather hungover.
I'm pretty chipper, all things considered.

The great thing is, I can now go and get properly drunk as I watch that mighty footballing nation of giants, Moldova, take the brave Scottish team to pieces.
I actually bumped into one of the Moldova players on Wednesday, as they were getting off their team bus in the city centre. Didn't know who they were until I saw the back of their track suits.
Should've booted him in the ankle, eh? Give our boys a sporting chance. :-P

@Karlos:

I read that as "Curse of amiga.org" :-D

I actually went to the Anarkali on Saturday (reasonably common occurrence), after watching Scotland win a football match.(Never been known to happen in recorded history... well, feels like that sometimes.)
