1. Burnt toast - doesn't taste very nice, but does the job if you can get it down.

I actually like burnt toast with plenty of butter and a cup of tea.
Not when I'm hungover though.

2. IRN BRU - a good Scottish (non-alcoholic) drink.

Absolutely. I'm drinking it now. If I've had a drunken night and gone to sleep without remembering
to drink water, nothing in the world cures the drooth like the Bru. :-D

3. A greasy fry-up.

Yup - with a nice cup of tea. After the Irn Bru starter.
And make sure you have a tottie scone on the plate - mmmm.

4. If it's really bad, more beer - sleep the rest of the day :)

I used to have a favourite Sunday pastime of getting the papers and going to my local for two pints of 80%.
After two pints I'd digested a fair bit of news and felt much better.

Don't do that very often these days.

Happy New Year! :pint:

but saying the pubs are a dissappointment is really an understatement.... I mean, it was hard to find a pub wich wasn't lit by TL tubes, and being decorated with a big telly tuned on some lousy music channel

You should have told me you were coming.

What type of pubs do you like?

cozy, easy, where you can talk nice with a couple of friends, and can drink all kinda special beers (I like to try ).
Btw, I just love ale, especially McEwans.

Hey - a man after my own heart; McEwan's 80% shilling is my favourite beer in the world.

Let me know next time you're coming over - I know just the place. :pint:

I find a couple of pints of "Belhaven Best" in 'Droothy Neebours"(sp)/Edinburgh hard to beat.

Ah, the Best! Another one of my favourite beers.

McEwans 80 is surprisingly good.  If one has experienced McEwans lager,

.....probably the worst lager in the world...
