CSA Mega Midget Racer on A1000 - what am I doing wrong
« on: July 25, 2011, 03:09:47 PM »
This one has really stumped me! The manual for the CSA-MMR states that it will work in an a1000... I have two CSA-MMRs, and both work perfectly in my A500. I have two A1000s - one rev A, one rev6. Both A1000s work perfectly with a TRR/Saphire (020). With the CSA-MMR jumpered to 68000, all is good. Jumpered to 030, just a black screen - no kickstart prompt...

Any ideas???

I guess its possible I need a full kickstart rom... I would have thought that if the boot/kickstart loading roms would work with an 020, it would be fine with an 030.

Has anyone run a CSA-MMR and/or any 030 on an A1000 with disk-loading kickstart?

I though I would get cute...
1. Jumpered csa-mmr to 68k
2. Loaded kickstart from disk
3. Jumper csa-mmr to 030
4. Ctrl-A-A
Didn't boot in 030 :( ...
Maybe my timing of steps #3,4 was off???
Maybe you can't switch from 68000 to 030 in this manner???
Maybe the CSA-MMR just doesn't work in an A1000 (despite what the manual says)???

It sounded so good, but doesn't work :( . The utility only switches from 030 to 68000 mode. I tried it and read the manual. If you run it from 68000, the utility does nothing...

I'm begining to think the CSA-MMR is just incompatible with the a1000.
