Pedantic or downright inaccurate? A gigabit is an eighth of the size of a gigabyte. Which would you rather have, a gigabit's worth of RAM or a gigabyte?
If you wanted to be accurate, then you should differentiate between GiB and GB, and between Gib and Gb. The ones with the 'i' are the ones you're looking for, as the G prefix is used for powers of ten, not for powers of 2.
