Amiga in PS3 case
« on: August 16, 2013, 12:03:06 PM »
I have a dead PS3 sitting gathering dust, one of the original big box ones.  Its totally dead as in the board is fried and the bluray drive failed so at the minute its just a large paper weight.

But I got thinking last night that wouldn't it be cool to rip it to bits and try to squeeze an amiga in there.  I started thinking it would make a nice case for the CD32 but from looking into it I don't think I would be able to get the CD drive to operate as slot loading and I don't fancy my skills in making the PS3 case top opening like the cd32.  Then got to thinking that if a 1200 motherboard would fit I might be able to use a slot loading IDE cd drive all be it need to find somewhere for the floppy and hdd but there should be plenty of space in the case.  Keyboard would have to be external but that should be a problem.  If the 1200 motherboard is to big I assume the likes of the 600 motherboard is smaller?

Basic idea is to have something that'll look decent sitting in the living room, rather than a grey 1200.

Anyone tried anything like this before?  I might give it a look in this weekend, am not worried about the PS3, if I make a mess of it so be it just wouldn't want to damage the Amiga.
