Be advised that in many cases Amiga won't boot (black screen) if PCMCIA Ethernet adapter is plugged when booting.
Remove the adapter and plug it in once you're in Workbench!
Yes I get that too. I have a hardware fix that fits over Gayle now so I'm trying that see if it makes a difference.
