There is a Bars and Pipes tool on Aminet for loading MIDI standard files (search for SMF). Also I recommend Black5 SMF player. No need for MIDI datatype or Multiview. It just interprets them in the raw and sends it to your internal serial port.

Sorry you couldn't find these files.
If you are interested in an efficient Shell player then search Aminet for B5MIDI.
The Bars`n`Pipes tool is actually an accessory (sorry my bad). It is on Alfred's site http://www.hansfaust.de/barsnpipes/download/sMerFF3_3.lha
