issue with vim
« on: February 03, 2008, 08:56:05 AM »
I have vim installed on my Amiga 1200 and when I start it up on the command line, I get a dialog box with the message "Please insert volume vim in any drive".

If I hit cancel twice, it goes away and vim starts normally.  This only happens the first time I run it.

The only thing I added to my user-startup for vim is the line:
path Main:Tools/vim/vim64

How can I get this dialog box to go away?

I'd actually tried adding that line before and had some problems.  When I add it exactly as you typed it, it does get rid of the "insert disk" dialog, however, it makes vim take a long time to start up (maybe 10 seconds) and when I quit I get a new dialog box titled "Software Failure" with the text:

vim
Program failed (error #8000004)
Wait for disk activity to finish

Then I have the option to suspend or reboot.  Rebooting throws up a guru meditation number.

Vim works without crashing without that line in my user-startup.  Any idea what might be going on?

Thanks for your help :)
