Why would I move to MorphOS?
« on: September 04, 2008, 01:14:27 PM »
Hi all

I don't want this thread to be full of flames about MorphOS, i'm just looking for some facts.

After reading Piru's thread about the progress of porting MorphOS to a Mac Mini it got me more interested in MorphOS. But as I don't have the hardware to test (would love a Mac Mini but not fond of OSX) I would like reasons to / not to choose it.

* What is the level of Amiga OS3.1 support?
* Can it run WHDLoad style games? (be gentle with me here!)
* What is the Native application support like? (Office type, Web browser etc...)
* Is it quicker than say 3.1 on an unaccelerated A1200?

Thanks in advance!

MorphOS Efika issues will be addressed.

Will be or are being looked at? I'd hate to have paid all that money for an OS that has issues that aren't being addressed as soon as they were informed about them.

Oh and to test out MOS you don't actually have to register it. It will just slow down after 30 mins or something like that.

As stated in my first post - I don't have the hardware to test it. I'm not going to buy some hardware without testing the OS. And I cant test the OS without the hardware. I wanted opinions on was it worth the punt... from what i've got so far... no it isn't.
