Legal threats from Harald Frank

I find this action against Amiga.org completely ridiculous.

However, there is one thing i have never understood about the whole Amithlon business. So please somebody enlighten me (i don't follow the story to closely).

Here goes:
Harald Frank starts Amithlon together with Bernd Meyer. Rumours tell me that the contribution from Harald were small. Yet, for some reason that i don't understand, Bernd doesn't seem to be able to replace the (small?) code from Harald, give it a new name and sell the product. So what is exactly the problem? I mean, everybody is free to make an Amiga emulator, right? So why hasn't Bernd been able to write his own emulator and sell it. I mean, if it is 100% your own code, why can't it be sold? Is it because of the P96 team being threatend? And if yes, can't Bernd write another system for that?

Somehow i don't understand this. I don't want to stir things up, i find it a fair question.

Essentially there you have the entire difficulty. I believe the other issues are solvable or have been solved already, but this one is the biggie.

Thanks for replying. However, i don't think this is all to it. I don't see why one person can hold back a product he has nothing to do with anymore. This is not possible.

I don't see any reason for Bernd not to have released Umilator. If it is his, then he can. It is so simple in my eyes. Why does he feel threatened if there is nothing to be afraid of. He knows that there is interest for his product.

Nah, i still don't get it...i think there is more to this story than has been told.
