Currently, the only hardware that is about to be available is Sam440, that will give about the same performances than a MicroAOne. Compared to a classic Amiga, with OS 4.1 on a Sam440 you will get only advantages except compatibility with programs that directly access the hardware.
For years, programs have been ported to OS4 (same thing on MorphOS). I own a Pegasos and a MicroAOne for years and since the first day I never had regrets or nostalgia thinking at my A1200.
PDF, video, audio, camera, USB, Internet (OWB or Sputnik), PowerPoint viewing (with my PointRider
, multimedia (Hollywood), ... for all I need daily, I would never come back to a classic Amiga. An Amiga NG can do all the same things but better !
About word processing, you can run AbiWord thanks to Cygnix.
Efika is cheaper than Sam440 but Sam440 is faster, has SATA, standard format (easier to get a case), ... It also will run Linux faster for those that need occasional use of programs not supported on Amiga.
