Not sure if this is straying off-topic, but there is a Maglev link through the UK proposed, called UK Ultraspeed.

I personally think Maglev is a great idea, it's benefits likley to outgun the flaws (mainly initial construction costs) in time.

As for the Denmark plan, it's a shame it didn't go through. And the Shanghai Airport-City Centre maglev link isn't useless because of its short track; it is far quicker at getting into a city like Shanghai than other means. That, and it's operation shows that the technology is feasible.
