Yeah, IBM came out with some "CHRP" I think. Common Hardware Reference Platform. But they kept changing the name... CHEP, CHRP, whatever. It was supposed to be a solid platform for PPC applications.
Which totally didn't take off, NT-wise.

I guess VirtualPC and the G4 line were powerful enough to render hardware-based solutions to x86 compatibilty an expensive, un-needed alternative. And one investment that didn't scale too well with performance...
