My understanding was that you could just record straight to the tape - that TBCs were only needed for input, and that single-frame recorders were from the pre-Flyer days when mass storage of high quantities of video was not possible. Assuming I'm not wrong, try:

Matt_H, I think I remember you once saying ( over a year ago) that it is possible to use the Video Toaster without TBC's as long as the input sources are digital such as a DVD player. Am I correct? It would make sense anyway.
