any advices on my new project?

I am about to start on a project of building a carputer. My aim was a itx pc with linux, or any os capable of running a nice dashboard... something similar to iTunes or winamp. and using OSD controls....

Might work. I was however planning on finding a software that more or less is the os and the dashboard in one unit. Booting into the dashboard and not any necessity for any input devices like mouse or keyboard.

Riping CDs i can do at home...
Most of my cds are already riped and stored on my computer...

That looks interesting, I wonder if it would work on an Intel based Mac Mini? That is what I am using for my Carputer

Should work. Flux Centrafuse still uses win xp as base os to handle drivers. but strip it down to its bare system, and remove absolute everything not essential for the operation. and install Flux Centrafuse to boot directly...
Not as standalone as i hoped. But i am still looking...

If the amiga was fast enough to handle mp3s, mpgs and compatible with OBD software and GPS. I would build one.
