I'm right-handed and I always used my right hand to control the stick, and left to hit the buttons. Felt like better control that way. Huh, you can please some of the people all the time, and all of the people some of the time, but I guess not even AmigaKit can please all of the people all the time, LOL. For me I'm looking forward to ordering this, just as soon as I can get a couple other bits, as well. 
I'm right handed and that's how I use a joystick too... along with every other right handed person I know.

I think the only way everyone would be happy is if the base was solid and Amigakit supplied a drill bit to bore the holes so you can stick the actual shaft and buttons where you want. Mind you, people would probably complain about the colour then.
