I love this bit:

Quote
Amiga is also announcing their give forward program, and will donate $25.00 per unit sold to supported groups and charities.

How about "donating" $50 to all the "coupon" holders out there who are still waiting?  I hope those charities get more than an I.O.U.

Still, now that Amiga Inc have some money, it might be time for a class action lawsuit to recover the $50 and $200 amounts owning to previous customers.

I'm still rather confused though, Commodore USA was claiming that these tablets were theirs while Amiga Inc's press release seems to think otherwise.  Perhaps C-USA and Amiga Inc are closer than we think...

Here's a theory:  Perhaps Barry didn't pay for the rights using hard cash, perhaps he paid for it with hardware for Amiga Inc to sell...

Sing along now folks...

Stick a pony in me pocket
I'll fetch the suitcase from the van
Cause if you want the best 'uns
And you don't ask questions
Then brother I'm your man

Where it all comes from
Is a mystery
It's like the changing of the seasons
And the tides of the sea
But heres the one thats driving me berserk
Why do only fools and horses work
La la lala - la la la la la (etc)

We've got some half priced cracked ice
And miles and miles of carpet tiles
TV's, deep freeze and David Bowie LP's
Pool games, gold chains, wosnames
And at a push
Some Trevor Francis track-suites
From a mush in Shepherds Bush, Bush, Bush,
Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush

No income tax, no VAT
No money back, no guarantee
Black or white, rich or broke
We'll cut prices at a stroke

God bless Hooky Street
Viva Hooky Street
Long live Hooky Street
C'est magnifique Hooky Street
Magnifique Hooky Street

I would +1 but you are forgetting a few things. The original "Amiga Inc" by Sheeplord and McBill is long, long gone. There was a little shell game with IP shuffle that went on. The "Amino" era Amiga Inc is history and I bet certain people out there would like it to remain history. I do seem to remember a brief resurrection during the Amiga Inc/Hyperion legal cat fight.

Anyhow the current Amiga Inc, however legal the forming which I will reserve judgement, has no obligation to the coupon and other sca^h^h^h promotions.

I gave up trying to keep track of who owned what and what position they were in.  Most of them seem locked in a "69".  :D

And since these things don't have keyboards they're OK?
Come on, if C=USA is successful, do they deserve to have the confusion this is going to cause in the buyer market?

Confusion in the buyers market?  You mean branding something non-Amiga as Amiga?

You don't seriously think that 17 years later a new Amiga would support legacy software do you?

You mean MOS and OS4.x can't run ANY Amiga software natively?

While ingenious, MorphOS' solution involves a just-in-time interpreter that actively translates 68K instructions on the fly. Since MOS supports most AOS 3.1 system calls, this allows it to run a lot of Amiga apps.
So yes, MorphOS runs 68K Amiga apps, just not natively.

And while I don't know enough about AOS4's internal workings to describe how it handles this task, as it too runs on PPC processors it isn't running 3,x apps natively either.

picky, picky.  They translate the instructions, but they're not emulating an Amiga.

It's a Haipad M7

It can't be, that one is only $225!  Where has the other $75 gone?  Well, $25 has gone to "charity" and the other $50 has possible gone to buying explosives for Bin Laden or something.
